George Ormerod

Bill Jackson notes that George was born on 26 October 1806, accordingto the Padiham parish register.

Became a brewer and died of cirrhosis of the liver, aged 45?

From his will, it would appear that the only children of George aliveat this time were Peter, Ann (who married Richard Riley), and Thomas.

Richard Ormerod

Had a house built in 1842 on the rear of Old Oak Cottage (1739) atLower Rosegrove Bridge, Burnley.

Went to Guernsey in about 1846 and died there of general debility in1850 at Mile Bank House.

His burial in Guernsey was witnessed by Henry Hall.
Hall was Richard's solicitor, and his officers were in Clitheroe.

A possible explanation for Richard's link to Guernsey might be thevicar of Haslingden, the Rev. L.H. Mordaque, who is believed to havecome from the island. He died on 30 January 1870, aged 46 years.
