Alice had two sons and four daughters.

The ruin of Puss Height Farm lies about the 400m contour line on thesouth, i.e. north facing, side of the Cowpe valley.
"Puss" is probably a euphemism for "Piss" since it lies not far from adeclivity known as "Piss Clough" and near a place called "Piss Yate".
The name probably came from the colour of the water, discoloured bythe moorland peat, which ran down the clough.When "Little Lol" lived at Puss Height he supported himself and hisfamily by sheep farming.

These two girls then elected their uncles George Ashworth of Lench andJohn Ormerod of Edgeside to take care of their bodies and copyholdestate until they were 21.

Married by bishop's licence on 10 September 1771.Lawrence's father bequeathed to him a leasehold at Little London inCowpe, but he was described as of Holden Clough, which lies belowLittle London on better land.
Lawrence's estate was sworn at a value of £90 by his widow, Mary, andhis son, Lawrence.Buried on 13 January 1816.

Buried on 4 April 1833 at Cowpe.There was an oral tradition amongst the sons of Lawrence Ormerod(11Cp1) that they were brought up by their grandmother, Mary, and thatone night she went to visit another of her relatives, was overcome ina snowstorm and never made it back to Puss Height.
Mary had eight brothers and sisters. One of these, John Lord ofHoylehey, had a mill on the way from Bacup to Sharneyford.
He died unmarried and left a will, proved in 1826, in which Mary withmost of his brothers and sisters or their children benefited from hisestate of over £1000.
