Born in Paul Street, Bristol, in 1834.
Received his professional training in the Bristol Medical School andthe Royal Infirmary, and in due course entered into practice (insuccession to Mr Randall) at Westbury on Trym, where at a later datehe lived in a house on Westbury Hill which he appropriately named"Foxstones".
In 1866 at St Neots, Huntingdonshire, he married Marianne Brooke,daughter of John Jewel Evans, a medical practitioner.
Henry was living at Westbury Hill, Westbury On Trym, Gloucestershire,at the time of the 1881 Census.
At this time Henry employed two servants:
Matilda M. Kerslake, aged 20 years, born in Westbury, Gloucestershire,who was employed as a cook; and
Rose Sellick, aged 20 years, born in Williton, Somerset, who wasemployed as a housemaid.Together with Dr Granville Henry was the originator of a dispensaryfor women and children, which afterwards led to the founding of theBristol Children's Hospital.

In 1903 he was instituted Vicar of Manaccan, Cornwall, to which wasadded in 1914 the adjoining benefice of St Anthony-in-Meneage.

Entered the medical profession, lived and practised in Paul Street,then a wealthy and fashionable part of Bristol.
Buried in the churchyard of St Paul's, Portland Square.
