From notes made by Malcolm Ormerod:
"Daniel Ormerod, b. abt 1871 at Extwistle Fold Cottage.
He married Margaret Blackburn about 1900. They lived at CarltonStreet, Nelson; moved to Ivy Street, Burnley; then Barrow-in-Furness;and moved back to Nelson in about 1913 to 27 Lomeshaye Road.
After the 1914-1918 War Daniel formed an Estate Agency - Ormerod &Ogden - in Nelson. He then moved to Hest Bank, Morecombe, in about1927.
Daniel died in 1939. He had three children: Florrie married EddieMarley (living in the outskirts of New York); John Robert Ormerod, wholived in Bloomfield Road, Blackpool (his son was Jack Ormerod); andWilliam Ormerod, who was also in the estate agency business (he had ason, Alex Ormerod, and daughter Ann Leaver (née Ormerod))."Daniel was living at 11 Claremont Street, Little Marsden, Nelson, atthe time of the 1881 Census.
After studying in the Bristol Medical School and the Royal Infirmary,followed his father into the medical profession.
He bought and occupied one of the handsome houses, "mansions" as theywere then called, in Portland Square.
Daughter of a surgeon.
Succeeded his father in the Bristol practice.
Died childless in 1875.
