Arras Flying Services Memorial

The Arras Flying Services Memorial is situated on the Faubourg d'Amiens in Arras, next to the British Cemetery and the Arras Memorial to the Missing.

It commemorates almost 1,000 men of the Royal Flying Corps, Royal Naval Air Service and Royal Air Force, who were killed on the Western Front during the First World War and have no known grave.

The globe which surmounts the pillar is decorated with a flight of doves on the exact path of the sun on 11 November 1918.

The name of Andrew Ormerod, of the Royal Flying Corps, is commemorated on this memorial.
