St Venant Communal Cemetery

 

St. Venant is a town in the Department of the Pas-de-Calais, 15 kilometres north-west of Béthune. The Communal Cemetery is 1 kilometre east of the town, to the north of the main road and between this road and the River Lys.

From January, 1915 to October, 1917, British and Indian Casualty Clearing Stations were posted at St. Venant, and it was during this time that Walter Ormerod was buried in the Cemetery.

Walter died on 2 January 1917, and his grave is situated against the south wall of the Cemetery (Grave Ref. IV. A. 49).
