Charlotte Ann Hargreaves
Charlotte married James Yorke Scarlett, who became a national hero following his success at the Battle of Balaclava during the Crimean War.
Following the death of her husband, Charlotte moved to Elfinewood, Hayward's Heath, Sussex - a house bought for her by her brother-in-law and sister, the
Rev. and Mrs William Thursby.
Charlotte was buried beside her husband at the church of St
John the Divine, Holme, and the committal service was conducted by her nephew, the Reverend
William Ford Thursby.
