Cyril Berkeley Ormerod served with the Royal Garrison Artillery as a Lieutenant, Acting Captain and Major.

The index cards to the First World War Medal Rolls show that he was entitled to the British War Medal and Victory Medal.

He served in France from 3 September 1917.

Cyril was a accomplished cricketer and played for the Marylebone Cricket Club (M.C.C.)

At the age of 65 Cyril married Beatrice Sigrist, widow of Freddie Sigrist, who founded Hawker Aircraft. He lived with her on an estate in Nassau for twenty years, and died on 1 November 1983 in London.
