James Francis Ormerod

Albert Ormerod was a engine cleaner from Leichhardt, Sydney, New South Wales.

His mother, whose is noted as Mrs 'M.J.' Ormerod on James' attestation papers, was living at 26 Marlborough Street, Leichhardt, Sydney, when he enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 5 April 1916, aged 21.

He embarked from Sydney on board H.M.A.T. A47 Mashroba on 14 September 1916, at which time he formed part of Divisional Ammunition Column 5, Reinforcement 5.

The Australian First World War Nominal Roll notes his unit as 3rd Field Artillery Brigade.

He returned to Australia on 16 June 1919.
