Bertie Ormerod died on 28 August 1918, and is buried in Hem Farm Military Cemetery, Hem-Monacu, France (Grave Ref. I. C. 12).

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission Debt of Honour Register states that he was posted to the 3rd Battalion London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers) at the time of his death.

Bertie is commemorated on the Stalybridge War Memorial as B. Ormerod.

The Soldiers Died in the Great War Database records that Bertie was born in Walton-In-Furness and was a resident of Stalybridge. He enlisted in the Army in Chester, and prior to being posted to the 3rd Bn, Royal Fusiliers, he served in the Cheshire Regiment (52nd Bn?), with the Regimental Number 52632.
