The Commonwealth War Graves Commission Debt of Honour Register records that Thomas was the son of Thomas and Gertrude Ormrod, of Acton, Middlesex.

Thomas died on 5 January 1942. He has no known grave and his name is commemorated on the Singapore Memorial (Column 10).

The Army Roll of Honour 1939-45 Database records that Thomas was born in Oldham, and lived in London (SW). The Database also records that Thomas was serving with the Royal Artillery when the Second World War began on 1 September 1939.
